Dinner Address: Race Diversity in the New America - Details:

The election of Barack Obama to the presidency was undoubtedly an enormous step forward in race relations. Yet race continues to be one of the most complex and troubling issues we face as a society. In fact, Pulitzer-Prize winning journalist Eugene Robinson argues in his new book, Disintegration: The Splintering of Black America, that the old cohesiveness has now been split by divisions every bit as deep and intractable as those of white communities. Robinson will draw on his experience as an associate editor and biweekly columnist for The Washington Post, and a commentator on MSNBC to explore the state of racial identification, socioeconomic issues, and political definitions in the Obama age.
