Clinical questions to be addressed:
  1. What are the physiologic and symptomatic consequences of estrogen deprivation, including vasomotor symptoms, vaginal atrophy, sleep disorders, and sexual dysfunction?
  2. What patients are suitable for hormone therapy? What options are available for patients with a personal or family history of breast cancer?
  3. What evidence-based recommendations can be made about the safety and efficacy of the different types, routes, and duration of hormone therapy, including bioidentical and synthetic hormones?
  4. What are the side effects of hormone therapy?
